Questions buyers ask us

Ordering, materials, payment and delivery for custom metal tags, labels, nameplates and signs.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order quantity?

25 pieces for most items — numbered tags, dog tags, labels and keychains. Nameplates, signs and one-off pieces can be made in smaller numbers; ask us.

Can every piece have a different name or number?

Yes. Send an Excel or CSV list (for example name, employee code, blood group) and every piece is engraved with its own line. The price per piece does not change.

Is there a setup, tooling or mould charge?

No. We engrave and cut with lasers, so there are no dies or moulds to pay for, even on a 25-piece order.

Do you give a GST invoice?

Yes. We issue a GST invoice with your company name and GSTIN so you can claim input tax credit.

Do you ship outside Mumbai?

Yes, we dispatch across India by courier. Mumbai clients can also collect from the workshop by arrangement.

How long does an order take?

We usually send the proof within 1 business day of receiving your details. Production time depends on the item and quantity and is confirmed with your quote. Tell us your deadline and we will say honestly whether we can meet it.

How do I pay?

For standard orders you can pay in full by UPI, card or payment link. For larger custom orders we usually take an advance with the balance before dispatch. Bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS) is welcome.

What file formats can I send?

Vector files (AI, PDF, SVG, EPS) are ideal. PNG, JPG and even a clear phone photo are fine to start — we redraw logos where needed and show you the result on the proof.

What if a piece is wrong?

If any piece does not match the approved proof, we remake it at no cost.

Can I get a sample first?

Yes. For custom labels and larger orders we can make a physical sample before the full run. Ask about this when you request a quote.

Do you make one-off pieces for individuals?

Yes — personal gifts and single pieces are sold through our consumer store, streetsoul.in.

Which is better for numbered tags, brass or stainless steel?

Stainless steel (SS 304) does not rust and stays silver, so it suits gyms, pools and outdoor use. Brass looks warmer and more premium and develops a natural patina over time, which suits hotels, clubs and offices.

What is the difference between engraved and cut-through numbers?

Engraved numbers are marked on the surface and can be black-filled for contrast. Cut-through numbers are cut right through the metal, so they cannot wear off and can be read from both sides.

How are metal labels attached to bags or clothes?

The most common methods are stitching holes (two or four), slots for straps or ribbon, rivets or screws for hard goods, and bendable legs that pass through fabric or leather. Tell us the product and we will suggest the right fixing.

Will brass labels tarnish?

Natural brass slowly darkens with handling and air, which many brands like as a vintage patina. If you want it to stay bright longer, ask us about lacquered finishes or choose stainless steel.
